David Zuercher Brings Software Leadership to Go West Robotics

Joining us as our Principal Software Lead, David brings with him extensive experience as a Full-stack Software Developer, skilled in Python, JavaScript, Java, C# (Unity3D), C++, SQL, Agile Methodologies and much more. When asked about his work as a programmer David responded, “For me programming is my profession and a hobby. I love the feeling of writing programs and seeing them work.” David's favorite quote, by Martin Fowler, reflects his love of coding.

Any fool can write code that a computer can understand. Good programmers write code that humans can understand.

Outside of programming, David has been an avid cyclist for the past 10 years. This year, he has taken up running and would like to run his first marathon in 2021.

Growing up, he was inspired by his brother and Bill Nye, encouraging his love of science in his life and work. The last book he read by Andy Weir, The Martian continues that passion.

We see a softer side of David as he describes his love of animals and how they make him smile. "I'm a huge fan of inter-species friendships, so I follow a couple of Instagram accounts that are exclusively photos and videos of such friendships. They tickle me."

David's expertise, humor, kindness, and passion are all welcome additions to our team. We look forward to creating great code together.
