Michael Baker Headshot

Go West Robotics is pleased to announce the hiring of Michael Baker as an experienced Robotics Engineer. Michael brings FANUC and ABB expertise and programming experience with multiple robotic systems manufacturers, including B&R and Siemens. Michael also brings mechanical design and Solidworks experience to Go West.

Michael started his automation career immediately after graduating from Washington College in Maryland. At Dixon Valve & Coupling Company, Michael serviced and improved their automation equipment. Michael worked most recently with the House of Design, a prestigious ABB integrator in Nampa, Idaho, where he earned the Systems Engineering Team Lead title.

Excellence in automation has been a cornerstone of Michael’s career, and he counts Elon Musk as one of his major influences. Michael is impressed with Musk’s ability to balance competing priorities by managing both the business and the engineering sides of Tesla.

“I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.”

-Bill Gates

In his professional life, Michael maintains balance by prioritizing efficient, elegant solutions to the problems he encounters on his projects. He often channels his inner-Bill Gates, who once said, “I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.” Having the wisdom to find simple solutions to complex problems is critical for all Go West team members

Outside of work, Michael is an avid mountain biker and rock climber, and he is currently pursuing photography as a complementary hobby. He enjoys traveling and finds the Caribbean Islands to be one of his favorite destinations. Michael also loves New York City because “there is no place like it.”

Michael’s experience and positive attitude will help Go West continue delivering exceptional robotics software services to their clients.
